Where does God live?
Think of all the money
that has gone into
buildings of Christian worship,
buildings that have been the source of inspiration
throughout decades.
And think of human misery and poverty
which has outlasted the strongest buildings.
Then you will know
why God
took up a permanent dwelling
in the human temple.
In Jesus Christ,
God resides in a poor person...
becoming the economic problem we have never solved.
God resides in a rich person...
becoming the resource problem we have never solved.
God resides in an abandoned person...
becoming the emotional problem we have never solved.
God resides amazingly in me...
becoming the self image problem I have never solved.
Where does our God live?
Find a problem.
God will already be there.

How wonderful to see pictures of Andy on the mission trip! On the day after my mother's funeral, I'm reminded how much these good people live on in the love they gave to others . . . A "duh" moment -- perhaps Jesus was on to something!
ReplyDeleteWe've been thinking of you...
ReplyDeleteAndy has been mentioned and missed by everyone with whom we've had contact. His absence, in many ways, is as defining to the trip this year as his presence has been other years.
The horses came back to their summer pasture today - and there were so many paints among them, I KNOW Andy had something to do with it! Pictures to follow - of course!
