In the beginning -
A day that started with rain,
a gathering
and eager hearts;
a day that seemed to hold
was actually filled with laughter,
conversation
and the building of community.
The route we take is intentionally
designed to reflect
the transitioning we must make during our time away...
moving from 6 lane highways,
to 4 lane state roads
to 2 lanes.
Our pace slowing,
our discussions deepening,
our senses opening,
allowing us to see differently -
to take in the beauty
we usually speed right by
without a thought.
Loving God,
a gathering
and eager hearts;
a day that seemed to hold
was actually filled with laughter,
conversation
and the building of community.
The route we take is intentionally

the transitioning we must make during our time away...
moving from 6 lane highways,

Our pace slowing,
our discussions deepening,
our senses opening,
allowing us to see differently -
to take in the beauty
we usually speed right by
without a thought.
Loving God,
You have led us to this place,
not to shield us from heartache
and the pain of human life,
but to heal us and inspire us,
to gently redirect us
'til we see the world as you do
the moon that is above us,
the earth that is below us,
the friends who are around us
Your image deep within us.
Amen
We have traveled safely
and well;
it's a good beginning.
We have traveled safely
and well;
it's a good beginning.
So glad you arrived safely! thoughts and prayers continue, especially to keep the snakes away.

Very nice to hear the update. The meditation on "the ordinary" is a great thought and a great way to begin. I work with a friend whose non-profit's motto is "sanctuary in the ordinary."
ReplyDeleteAs always the pictures are great and bring me "home." Really miss it. Thinking of you all. May your dance be good out there living in the perpetual encounter of the ordinary and the divine. Keith H.
