The past 24 hours ...

 looking and listening.

 

15 hours in a van is a long time;

to travel,

to talk,

to listen, 

to learn,

to laugh;

 

all preparation for building

and living 

intentionally

in community. 

To arrive safely

 

to settle in,

despite obstacles and temperatures over 100 ,

 and then be blessed with another new day

 are not gifts to be taken for granted.

It's good to be back ...

 

 (on such a busy Sunday in downtown Mission!)

 

to see what work awaits us for the week

 

 

 

 and to renew acquaintances

while making new ones.

 

A promising beginning.

Listen as an act of love

to the stories

of ordinary people

in everyday life.

Open yourself

to hear from joy bringers,

love givers, pain endurers;

all the unsung heroes

who fill our world.

Take time to hear the wisdom,

find the wonder,

allow the poetry to emerge.

Let us look, listen and proclaim.

 People matter.

We care.

God loves.

All lives are extraordinary.
