Saturday morning: 06/19/2010

After many months of preparation, the trip to South Dakota begins.
We do not go alone.
Not only are we with others from the Mission trip group but we are surrounded by the prayers of the congregations of Emmanuel, Christ Lutheran and Rosebud Mission, as well as our families and friends.
Most of all, God is with us.

Prayers for the journey:

Eternal God, You call us to ventures, the endings of which we cannot or may not see; by paths both familiar and those unknown.

Give us faith to go out with courage, not knowing exactly where we go or what we are to accomplish, but knowing only that Your hand is leading us and Your love supporting us: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.



All compassionate and merciful God,
source of life and light;
who knows our weakness and wretchedness,
yet still loves us:

give us wisdom to recognize the connectedness
we share as your people.

Give us the courage and power to speak out
and fight against unfairness and injustice.

Give us generosity of spirit to share our resources and ourselves.

Send your grace upon our partnerships in your holy name,
that together we might learn and do more
than we can ever do alone.
